Philip Flawless is no stranger to backyard wrestling. Philip, then known as Painface in the FBW, had held the FBW Heavyweight Title on more than one occassion. Philip then signed a contract with IBW, leaving his FBW days behind him.
Upon his IBW debut in June of 2002 in the Battle Royal to determine the first ever IBW Heavyweight Championship, Philip's chances were ruined when Jordan "The Titan" Stamy hit the ring and accidentally took him out instead of Tommy Hill. Philip looked to get revenge against The Titan but those plans were ruined once again when Chino (also from FBW) made his IBW debut, taking out The Titan and then pinning Philip in a quick victory.
Frustrated, Philip demanded an IBW Midwest Title shot so he could show his skills. In what was called the best IBW Midwest Title match to date, Philip took on Marty Matthews. Both men had a brutal contest over the Midwest gold, which saw Philip display a wide aray of technical and power moves. In the end, Marty was able to hit the Marty Massacre and retain his title, allowing Philip to taste defeat for the third time.
Philip could take no more. He marched into the 4th IBW event and took on Tommy Hill, in which the winner would face The Staminator later in the show for the IBW Heavyweight Title. Philip was able to counter Tommy and hit the Flawless Finisher to gain his spot in the Main Event against The Staminator. However, much like his previous title match with Marty Matthews, Philip tasted defeated for a fourth time when The Staminator hit the Facelift and retained his title.
At Double Crossed, Philip made a promise that if he couldn't defeat "Hot Property" Wyatt Blackford and move onto the Main Event, he would quit the IBW. Much like his other attempts, Philip came up short when Wyatt hit the Tetnis Shot after Philip attempted his Evenflow DDT. Philip then went backstage, packed up his bags and left the IBW.
Is Philip truly done with his IBW days? Stay tuned!
